Philippine Military Academy Entrance Examinations set on August 2

Do you have dreams of becoming an officer of the Armed Forces of the Philippines? The first phase of the stringent selection process of the Philippine Military Academy will be held on August 2 as the PMA will conduct their annual entrance examinations in 37 locations in the country.

To be part of the Class 2020, one must at least be 5’5″ in height, born between April 1, 1994 to April 1, 1999, Single and never been married, natural born-Filipino citizen, physically fit and of good moral character,at least high school graduate, and have no administrative or criminal case.  The applicants who passed in the entrance examinations will be officially received in the the country’s Top military school  in a path-taking ceremony and reception rites on April 1, 2016.

Philippine Military Academy lowers Height Requirement

Now one will only need to be at least by 5 feet tall to enter the Philippine Military Academy (PMA).  PMA Superintendent Major General Nonato Peralta said that the move allows more people who dreamed to have a military career enter the service. A year ago, an applicant who were lower than  5’4″ for males and 5’2″ for females were rejected due to the height requirement. The 2013 batch will have plebes that will be shorter than the previous batches.

This year’s Philippine Military Academy Cadet Qualification Test (PMACQT) will be on August 26. Other requirements for admission are the following: Birth Certificate as only Natural-born Filipino citizens are admitted, physically fit and of good moral character, CENOMAR, high schoool diploma, NBI clearance as proof no criminal or administrative case.

Successful applicants will be guaranteed of a free college education with monthly salaries and allowances.  Upon graduation, a PMA cadet can start a progressive career in the different military branches of the Armed Forces of the Philippines with a rank of 2nd Lieutenant or its equivalent.
