Mactan Newtown, a development by Megaworld Corporation, opened its Hawkers Center to give visitors and locators more dining options. One of the first restaurants that opened in the Hawkers Center is MexiMama Cocina Latina. This Cebuano-owned food outlet promises to give locals as well as tourists “a taste of Mexican” at budget-friendly prices.
If you love tacos, nachos, quesadillas, burritos, tortillas, and other Mexican specialties then this is the place to be. The ingredients are freshly made everyday and it is seasoned to suit the Filipino palate. Their specialties are priced from 65 to 220 pesos which is very reasonable for a Mexican Restaurant. Chef Dennis Uy, owner of MexiMama, said “you do not need to pay extra to taste delicious Mexican food”. Chef Dennis had stints as a chef of some of the best resort hotels in Cebu. He also said that the main ingredients like the flour, chipotle, and sauces are all imported. The newly opened food stall is the second branch of MexiMama. The other branch is located at the Marina Mall.
MexiMama also serves rice meals and delicious desserts. The Mactan Newtown branch will be open from 10 am to 10 pm daily. They accept catering and drop-off orders. For more information, you may follow them in Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MexiMamaMexicanDiner .
