President Beningno Aquino III recently appointed in 24 new judges to fill various vacancies in courts throughout the country. Six of the new appointees will be for courts in Cebu City and Mandaue City. Here are the new judges for Cebu:

There are still 5 vacancies in Cebu City RTC after the retirement of Judges Simeon Dumdum Jr., Silvestre Maamo, Enriquita Belarmino, Eric Menchavez, and Meinrado Paredes. The Supreme Court has appointed acting judges to act on the cases being handled by these vacant courts.
The appointment of new judges will help speed up the resolution of some cases as most of the courts that were filled were vacant for at least 1 year and 10 months.
