The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB)-Central Visayas has approved the 50 centavo reduction of the minimum jeepney fare in Central Visayas. This is a good news for the commuters but some sectors feel that the reduction is too small.
Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) President Teresa Chan believes that fares should be at 6-6.50 pesos only as more price cuts for diesel is expected in the coming days. There were more people who share her sentiments in this article from Sunstar Daily.
The rollback is good start as diesel prices now hover below 30 pesos per litre. The last time that prices were this low, the minimum fare was only 5 pesos. Is 7 pesos good enough for you? What do you think??
