Cebu and Bohol greeted by strong aftershocks Sunday morning

19 Oct

Many residents of Cebu and Bohol were roused from their sleep early morning Sunday as several moderately strong aftershocks struck the region.  The strongest was at 4:40 am which was recorded as a 5.1 magnitude tremor.  Intensity IV was felt in most of Cebu. It was followed by 6 aftershocks in less than 4 hours.  The shocks caused many people to wake up earlier than usual and some call center agents were even asked to leave their offices and stay outside.

Epicenter of the 4:40 am aftershock

The aftershocks did not cause any delays in activities as the Pink October Run held in Ayala Terraces was successful staged and masses are on schedule in several churches in Cebu.   Here is the list of the most recent earthquakes in the Philippines based on the website of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS)
