Parkmall- Cebu’s Most Pet-friendly Mall

1 Jun
I know a lot of people who love dogs and cats. They would sometimes wish that they could bring their favorite pet in malls. Well in Cebu, there is a mall that allows you and your pet to enjoy malling together. The management of Parkmall in Mandaue allows pets inside the mall. You just have to register your dog or cat, and then you practically go malling with your favorite animal companion.

Parkmall is usually filled with pet-loving shoppers on weekends.  I saw countless of breeds and sizes of dogs visit the mall with their masters. To bring your dog, it must have a leash and at least, it should be toilet-trained (or else you would end up picking its pooh, which is rather embarrassing).  You can also have your dogs wear a diaper just to be sure.  I do not know the reaction of the mall management if I brought a mongrel (Azkal) there.  I guess, it won’t matter much , as long as the dog is well-behaved.  If I bring an Azkal named James Younghusband, I might definitely cause some sort of pandemonium. ;)

What nice fur you have…
A pack of Chow chows invaded Parkmall ;)
Dogs in escalators??
It doesn’t matter how small your pet is…
It doesn’t matter how long its hair…
as long as its well-behaved…you can bring it to the mall
It would be a different story if I bring them to Parkmall ;)

Food Trip: Feelin’ Japanese at Kotobukiya

25 Feb

I love Ramen. One time, while exploring this new mall in Mandaue, I found this new Japanese place named Kotobukiya Restaurant. I browsed on their menu and saw that their ramen cost around 235 pesos. I realized that if I should there, I should take my wife. For February, we actually ate at Kotobukiya twice already.

The restaurant is located at JCentre Mall.

The place is clean and some tables are big enough to fit at least 6 diners.

Stephie really likes the Mini-Chasu donburi. It is a meal by itself. Japanese rice topped with pork strips and sesame seeds.

The Ramen is good for 2 people. You can also have Ramen in Miso or in a hot version.

There are loads of appetizers and side dishes to choose from. Kotobukiya also serves Curry rice, gyoza, and Fried Chicken set to accompany their delicious ramen.
Overall, we really liked eating there. The food is great. The service crew are friendly. The prices are very reasonable. The place also accept major credit cards. The place is not the same as your typical Japanese restaurants here as they do not serve items like tempura, sashimi, and sushi, they are more of a ramen and curry house. If you happen to crave for some Ramen and other Japanese dishes try this place out.

Gesta stunning in his Top Rank Debut

11 Jul

"No Mercy" Gesta: Future is looking bright (sdfights.com)

Carson California – Mandaue City‘s Mercito “No Mercy” Gesta is starting to emerge as one of the Philippine‘s brightest boxing prospects after knocking out Jorge “El Tigre” Pimentel of Mexico in the 3rd round of his debut fight under the Top Rank Promotions. He fit his billing as ” No Mercy” as he relentlessly battered the Mexican and knocking Pimentel down in every round of the abbreviated match. A thundering right uppercut ended the match as referee Raul Caiz Jr. finally decided it was over after the Mexican fighter fell for the 3rd time.

The win improve the undefeated Cebuano‘s record to 22 wins- 0 loss – 1 draw with 11 KO wins. He is now in line to fight for a world title. According to legendary promoter Bob Arum, there is a big possibility that Gesta will be included in the fight card of the Margarito-Cotto rematch in December.  He might be facing the IBF Champion Miguel Vasquez.

caloycomment: A lot of good things are coming for the young fighter. Hopefully, he will keep his discipline and ego under control. A lot of Filipinos became one-shot wonders after tasting the fruits of success in boxing and some champions fall out of favor from their promoters because of overconfidence. Mercito Gesta should always remember what brought him to where he is and always be grateful for the opportunity. Well done, Mercito!!!
