It looks like that there will be a super united Mandaue in the May 2013 elections. Current Mandaue Mayor Jonas Cortes added the candidate he defeated in the May 2010 elections as a possible ally in the next elections. Mayor Cortes had forged an alliance with the Ouanos a few months back and he set to run unopposed in next year’s polls.
Former Cebu 6th district Representative Nerissa Soon-Ruiz has been hired by the mayor to help implement the city’s health program called “I Care Program”. The programs aims to improve the public health program to the barangay level with a special focus on child care. If Ruiz accepts the appointment she will receive P18,000 a month.
Dr. Nerissa Soon-Ruiz is a Certified Family Physician and has a masteral degree in Public Health from UP Cebu.
