Beijing, China – Cebuano Rubilen Amit was chosen to be the female participant for the Philippines in 2012 World Pool Team Championship. She will be teaming up with Efren Reyes, Francisco Bustamante, Dennis Orcollo in the tournament that was a top prize of $80,000.
The format of this tournament is like the football World Cup where teams are divided into several groups. The teams in the same group will play each other and the top 2 teams of the group moves on to the knockout stages. Each match-up will include 6 matches, 2 for each billiard discipline: 8-ball, 9-ball, and 10-ball.
The Philippines is in Group A along with Indonesia, Croatia, and Estonia. In yesterday’s matches, the Philippine won over Indonesia, 4-2 while Croatia routed Estonia, 5-1. 23 countries are represented. Two teams come from hosts China.
