Philippine Army/RC Cola’s John Rene Mier won the stage 10 of the 2012 Ronda Pilipinas. Stage 10 was a 120 km lap from San Fernando, Pampanga to Cabanatuan City. Mier, who traces his roots to Boljoon, was major awardee at the 30th Annual SAC-SMC Cebu Sports Awards. Just last year, he bagged the gold medal in the 30 km points race at the Southeast Asian Games. His stage 10 victory netted him 50,000 pesos. He is currently 3rd in the young rider classification behind RP Team’s George Oconer and Metro Manila’s Denver Casayuran. Y101FM/Cebu Team’s Elmer Navarro and Nino Surban finished 13th and 31st respectively in Stage 10.
