Nha Trang City, Vietnam – The Energen Pilipinas Under-16 Youth Team won their 3rd straight game in the 2nd FIBA Asia Under 16 Championships. After beating their first two opponents with a lopsided score, the game against Qatar was no different. The Pinoys limited the Qataris to 10 points in the first half on they to a very comfortable 107-28 win.
Janhubert Angelo Cani and Timothy Jordan Heading paced the nationals with 15 points a piece. Ex-Magis Eagle guard Adven Jess Diputado finished with 14 markers and was 1 of 1 in the 3-point region. Sacred Heart School- Ateneo de Cebu’s Renzar Henry Asilum started the game and finished with 5 points.
Olsen Racela used all his players save for Kyles Lao. All players played more than 14 minutes and scored at least 5 points. Up next for the Philippines is Saudi Arabia, who lost against Indonesia.
