The estimated rainfall amount is from 10 – 30 mm per hour (moderate to heavy) within the 400 km diameter of the Tropical Storm. Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under Public Storm Warning Signal are alerted against possible flashfloods, landslides and storm surges. Coastal residents should also be wary of storm surges brought by typhoon Ramon.
Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia has ordered evacuation of residents in high-risk areas. Cebu City is now experiencing moderate rainfall and it is expected to intensify tomorrow as Ramon gets stronger and closer to the island of Cebu. Ramon was spotted to be 567 km SE of Cebu City as of 12 noon today. It is expected to pass through Northern Cebu on Wednesday evening.
